I know there are many weight loss programs out there, but I really do believe we are the best (I know this sounds arrogant, but I am going to tell you why.)
First, in our food program, you are not going to go on an extreme diet AND you are going to lose your weight. Any program that guarantees you a 20 lbs weight loss per month, or any other type of guarantee, will put you on a very miserable and extreme diet which means very very low calorie, such as 600 or even 400 calories per day. If you can even sustain that diet, the minute you stop, you will gain all the weight back that you have just lost. And what is the point of that? That is NOT what we do. We teach you how to eat real foods, bought in your grocery store, and how to eat them in the right combinations at the right time of day.
Secondly, you are not going to eat miserable foods here. Who wants to eat miserable food? Who wants to live on shakes and fake frozen foods? First it tastes horrible, and again, once you go off these foods, you just gain all of your weight right back. In our program, all of your meals will be purchased in a grocery store. In addition, Dr. Constable is a food lover (she grew up in France) and has been cooking for decades; she will introduce you to many new foods that taste wonderful and also help you lose weight. All of the recipes she gives you she has made herself, they do not come out of some random weight loss cookbook. She is constantly experimenting and coming up with new ideas. Many of her recipes are very simple, you do not need to be an expert cook.
Also, our program is designed by the doctor, not a “specialist” or self described expert who has all good intentions, but these people really do not completely understand the biology of the body, which is really complicated, and they think that whatever works for them, will work for everybody. This is never going to work because there is no one single formula that will work universally. In our office we will design your personalized program specific to you, based on your medical history (if you have one,) your lifestyle, and of course a very comprehensive blood test (covered by your insurance).

Here are some of the many differences between our program and other weight loss programs:
1. This program was designed by a medical doctor, who has a thorough understanding of the biology of weight loss, not by a psychologist, a business person, or a sports director or physiologist, or any other person. It is scientifically correct.
2. Our patients do not eat meal replacements. They only eat real food for all their meals, purchased in any grocery store.

Here are some great tips of information:
1. Everyone always thinks they can lose weight on their own. They always think this. They never do. If this is you, draw a red line, and after a certain amount of time, decide its time to get professional help.
2. Many weight loss programs are scientifically incorrect. The diet they give you is generic, or just plain wrong. How do you know if this is true of the program you are on now? You are not losing weight.
3. If your program does not look at your blood work, it is probably not scientifically correct.
4. Weight Loss is not simple, even though it appears to be so.
5. There is no formula for weight loss that will work for everyone. Two women or men, of the exact same age, at the exact same weight can go on the same diet, and one will lose weight and the other will not.
6. Losing weight is not about will power. You cannot willpower your blood pressure to go down. You cannot willpower your hunger hormones to go down.
7. If your program does not teach you how to do maintenance, please do not go on that program.
8. If your program cannot get you out of a weight loss plateau, then your coach does not understand the physiology of fat metabolism/weight loss.
Statistically in our program;

why see a doctor?
The answer is, in a few words, that losing weight is not simple. Many think it is just about eating less calories. But this is not correct. Because all calories are not the same, eating 400 calories of ice cream is not the same as eating 400 calories of grilled fish. They do not trigger the same hormones and they do not affect your weight the same way. We can put together 10 different weight loss program, each of which adds up to 1400 calories. On some of these you will lose weight, on some maintain, and on some, even gain weight. So counting calories will never work.
If you are overweight, something in your body is out of balance, and needs to get back into balance.The problem is most likely not that you are eating too much food. The problem is that you are eating the wrong foods, in the wrong combinations, at the wrong time of day.
This imbalance in your diet creates an imbalance in internal hormones. But to say that your hormones are out of balance, would be greatly oversimplifying the problem. What hormones, and how are they out of balance? This is why you need to see a true doctor, to diagnose the problem. To begin, blood tests need to be done, and interpreted by someone who really understands how to put the “puzzle” together. (If you have entered a program which does not begin by ordering a blood test, this program is never going to work.)
In our clinic, we look much deeper than the blood test you get in your internist, or family practice’s office. We want to look at your leptin level for example. What is this? It is your hunger hormone. Most doctors do not need to know how hungry you feel, but as a weight loss doctor, we do want this information.
Then we put you on a machine that measures your total body composition. A weight scale gives you a number, your weight. But where is the weight distributed? Do you have too much fat, not enough muscle, not enough hydration? We will examine your make up by having you stand on a total body composition machine, where we can see exactly what is going on internally.(for example, Fat around your organs is not the same as fat in your abdomen.)
As you go through our program, we will monitor your weight loss as you lose weight, not only on the scale, but on the total body composition machine. We want to make sure you are losing fat, and not muscle.
Designing diets is also complicated. Why? Because there is no one size fits all formula for weight loss. Programs all over America are looking for simplistic formulas. Algorithms are created. Everyone who needs to lose 50 lbs go on program A, everyone who needs to lose 40 lbs go on program B, and so on. This is never going to work. Each person is unique and needs to be evaluated individually. In our office, we will design a program that is specifically for you, based on this medical information, your blood test, your total body composition, and the history you give us.
And then you hit a plateau in your weight loss. Why? because the program that works for you in the beginning of your weight loss journey, will not work straight to the end, because your body adapts. Again, you need professional help. A weight loss doctor understands how the body works, and why you hit plateaus, and how to get the weight to start coming off again.
